Jukka RASILAINEN |
He was born in Helsinki. He studied
at the Sibelius-Academy in Helsinki and also with Maestro Tina Scapini-Rella
in Rome.
His first engagement was 1983
at the Savanlinna Festival as Leporello/Don Giovanni and in Lahti 1984
as Basilio/Barber of Seville. He joined the Zurich Operastudio in 1985
as a Bass and got his first season engagement 1986 at the Städt.
Theatre in Dortmund in Germany. There, under the guide of Generalmusiedirector
Klaus Weise he changed slowly into the category of a Heldenbariton and
soon he sang parts like Wozzeck, Scarpia, Amonasro, Jochanaan etc. in
Dortmund and Krefeld. In 1991 he sang his first Flying Dutchman and was
called to guest
this part at the Staatsoper Vienna, Berlin and other international houses.
He sang in Düsseldorf, Dresden and Vienna many new roles in this
category as there are Mandryka, Falstaff (Verdi) etc.
Since 1993/94 he works as a free-lance
artist with a major quest-contract in Dresden, where he completes his
repertoire. He was singing there Kaspar/Freischütz, Don Giovanni
(Titelrole), Figaro (Titelrole), Kurwenal etc.
His first Amfortas he sang in
Montpellier and next in 1998 at Covent Garden/London and at the Bastille
in Paris.1999.
With the Deutche Oper Berlin he goes to Japan as Dutchman in 1998.
At the Opera in Helsinki he sang
his first Wotan in Rhinegold in 1997 under Götz Friedrich. Walküre
follows in November 1997 after a series of Freischütz in Vienna.
