Ferruccio FURLANETTO |
Italian bass Ferruccio Furlanetto
is one of the most sought-after singers of the world. He is known as a
brilliant interpreter in the Italian repertoire and as a Mozart-singer.
Numerous opera recordings and many opera films and TV telecasts demonstrate
his great musicality and his acting talents.
Ferruccio Furlanetto has worked
with all great orchestras and conductors such as. Karajan, Maazel, Abbado,
Barenboim, Bernstein, Giulini, Haitink, Prêtre, Levine, Bychkov
and Muti etc and performs at the major opera houses all over the world,
such as the Milan La Scala, the Vienna State Opera, Covent Garden London,
Opéra de Paris, the Met, in Rome, Turin, Palermo, in Vienna, Geneva,
Torino, Colon, Tokyo San Diego and recently at the Mariinsky St Petersbourg.;
he is also appearing in the most important festivals, notably Salzburg.
As recitalist he did a tour with
Russian Lieder (Rachmaninov, Mussorgsky) with Alexis Weissenberg. He also
is a great concertist, notably singing the Verdi Requiem all over the
world : Suntory Hall, Tokyo, Santa Cecilia Roma, New York Philharmonic,
Musikverein Vienna...
He is booked until 2009 singing all over the world his favourite roles
like Boris Godounov, Procida, Don Quichotte, Beckett (Assassinio nella
Cathedrale by Pizetti), Philipp II, Mustafa Padre Guardiano, Attila, Zaccaria,
Fiesco, etc etc…
Ferruccio Furlanetto was
born in Italy. He is Honorary Ambassador to the United Nations and a passionate
golf player.
