Aga MIKOLAJ


Aga Mikolaj was born in Kutno (Poland) and is known today as one of the best young European lyric Sopranos and leading Mozart voices.
She studied in Poland and won at the beginning of her career singing competitions in Holland and Spain (Alfredo Kraus competition) and perfectionists her roles frequently with Elisabeth Schwarzkopf.
After her studies she sang at the National Opera Warsaw and Opera Poznan.

Since September 2002 she is one of the leading sopranos of the
Munich National Theatre (Bavarian State Opera), Among other her repertoire there includes roles such as Pamina (The Magic Flute), Micaela (Carmen), Gretel (Hänsel and Gretel), Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni) Marzelline (Fidelio), Drusilla (Incoronazionei Poppea), Eurydice (Orphee et Eurydice).

Aga Mikolaj sang these roles and others such as Eva (Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg) and Contessa (The Marriage of Figaro) also at the Opera Essen (Germany), The National Opera Prague and the Volksoper Vienna.
Besides her Opera engagements Aga Mikolaj sings also concerts and her repertoire includes main works from Bach to Penderecki.

Recently Aga Mikolaj debuted at the Opera Bastille, Paris (The Magic Flute) and went on tour to Japan with the Vienna State Opera (Don Giovanni) and she will debut 2006 he Glyndebourne touring (Cosi fan Ttte).
