In the seasons to come Nicolas’ commitments are among others Boito (Mefistofeles) in Toulouse, Don Quichotte in Marseille, Damnation de Faust in Monaco and Oslo, Gremin in Brussels, Zaccharia in Toulouse and Lausanne…

Among his highlights: Narbal in “Les Troyens”,  Gessler (“Guillaume Tell”) at the Chorégies d’Orange and at the Royal Opera House, both Mephistopheles ( “Faust” and “Damnation de Faust”), his first Philippe II, Koenig Marke (“Tristan und Isolde”) the Four Villains in “Les Contes d’Hoffmann”, Fiesco (“Simon Boccanegra”) in a staging by Leo Nucci, Pimen or Soliman in Gounod’s “La Reine de Saba”, Bertram (Meyerbeer’s “Robert le Diable”) and also Abramane in Rameau’s Zoroastre and Hunding (Die Walküre), Debussy’s “Pelleas et Melisande” as Golaud.

After his studies with the mezzo-soprano Jane Berbié, Nicolas Courjal started in the ensembles of the Opéra Comique in Paris and in Wiesbaden. Since then he sings at the Opera Bastille, the Chatelet, in all French theatres, at La Fenice, at the Sferisterio Macerata, the Maestranza in Seville, Covent Garden, in Japan, at the Choregies d’Orange, Geneva, Lausanne, in Japan, in Monte Carlo and Moscow and  also participates in many world creations.

He appears in recital with his pianist, Antoine Palloc and in concert with the great French orchestras as well as the Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra of Moscow, the Malaysian Orchestra, the RTVE Madrid, Santa Cecilia, Philharmonia Orchestra London and the Malmoe, Aahrus,Warsaw orchestras under the batons of A. Altinoglu, S. Baudo, J. Conlon, MW Chung, C. von Dohnany, C. Eschenbach, V. Fedosseiev, L. Foster, J. Mercier, M. Plasson, A. Pappano, P. Rophée, L. Zlatkin, D. Oren, JE Gardiner, P. Steinberg, M. Soustrot, FX Roth, R. Pichon, E. Pekka Salonen, M. Minkovski, G. Sagripanti, J. Nelson, M. Franck E. Pido, M. Tilson Thomas…

Nicolas Courjal did several recordings and videos: among them : “Carmen” and “Guillaume Tell” with the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, “Herculaneum” by Félicien David, with the Palazetto Bru Zane ,”Les Troyens” and “Damnation de Faust” (alongside J. Di Donato and M. Spyres) for Warner.
