Gramophone proclaimed it “a most impressive debut,” adding “there’s an effervescence and litheness that underpins their approach.” Their second recording was released in the spring 2018 and has been a great success. Centered on the french repertoire from 20th century,  it included masterpieces by G.Fauré and M.Ravel as well as the very lesser known piano trio by Germaine Tailleferre. In October 2019, the Trio Karénine released a third album dedicated to Chostakovitch, Dvořák et Weinberg, a true dive into the tragic lyrisme of a slavonic soul…

The three musicians graduated from Paris and Lyon CNSM, the Paris Ecole Normale, and studied further individually with internationally well-known teachers in Leipzig, Vienna and Berlin. The ensemble studied with charismatic chamber music artists, such as the Ysaÿe Quartet, Menahem Pressler, Ferenc Rados, Jean-Claude Pennetier, Trio Wanderer and Hatto Beyerle.

In January 2019, Trio Karenine was appointed at the Royal Northern College of Manchester to teach chamber music for one year.
